A view key sees incoming funds only. Until the fund imports key images,
the WOW figure is the received total, which overstates a wallet that has
spent; it was labelled a balance. Show 'Received so far' until a key-image
sync, then the balance. Publishes the XMR view key so anyone can verify
incoming XMR donations.
The page asked mempool.space, Blockscout and PublicNode for three of the
five balances from each visitor's browser, and showed nothing for WOW and
XMR. wownero.org now reads every balance once a minute, from its own
Wownero, Bitcoin and Ethereum nodes and PublicNode for Solana, and
publishes /donations/balances.json. The page reads only that.
WOW gains a live balance from a view-only wallet and its view key is
published so anyone can verify incoming donations; XMR follows once its
view key is. A source that cannot be read shows its last value marked as
such, or says it is unavailable; it is never shown as zero.
Codeberg is removing cryptocurrency projects, so the site should not send
anyone there. The CODE nav, WOW GIT, Source Code, Wownero Code and the CLI
wallet download now point at github.com/wownero, which carries the same git
history: the mirror has every tag the Codeberg repository has, v0.11.4.0
included, verified by comparing both remotes ref for ref.
One caveat is deliberate and needs following up rather than hiding. Tags
mirror; GitHub releases do not. github.com/wownero/wownero has no release
newer than v0.8.0.0 from 2020, so the CLI wallet tile now points at a
releases page whose newest entry is six years old. The daemon binaries for
v0.11.4.0 exist only as Codeberg release attachments. Publishing them on
GitHub is a provenance decision for whoever built and signed them, not a
copy an automated change should make quietly.

An interactive explainer on verifiably burning Grin has been served from
wownero.org for some time and was never committed. It is untracked on the box,
so nothing outside that filesystem knew it existed and a rebuild of the host
would have taken it with no trace.
Self-contained: no local assets, and nothing on the site links to it, so it is
reachable only by its URL. Committing it as served, without editing it; whether
it should be linked from the wallets or resources sections is a separate
question.

The two hosts had drifted apart. Codeberg carried a main.css cache-busting
commit and its revert, which cancel out; this side carried the wowlet link fix
and the adopted social card. Merged rather than rebased, because our two
commits were already published to GitHub.

The live site serves a 1200x630 og.png and points the OpenGraph and Twitter
tags at it, with twitter:card set to summary_large_image. None of that was in
the repository: the image was absent entirely and the tags still named
Wownero_Logo.svg with a plain summary card. Someone improved the link preview
on the box and the change never came back here.
Left alone, the next deploy from this repository would have quietly undone it,
swapping a proper preview card back for a 694-byte logo and a small summary.
Adopted rather than reverted: the server's version is the better one. The
repository is now the truth again, byte for byte, and the only intentional
difference from what is live is the wowlet download link.

The desktop wallet tile linked to codeberg.org/wownero/wowlet/releases,
where the newest release is 5.0.3 from June. The whole 5.1 line, 5.1.0
through 5.1.2, is published on GitHub only, so anyone using the front
door got a build three releases old and missed the fix that stops the
wallet offering to mine on someone else's node.
Nothing in the wallet made up for it: CHECK_UPDATES is off in every
release build, so a shipped wowlet never checks for a newer one. The
download page is the only route a user has.
Codeberg stays a code mirror.
