From 3bf9509f08a9d79e799559f6e21519c731f4d2ad Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: jwinterm Date: Fri, 22 May 2026 21:57:40 -0400 Subject: [PATCH] Windows CI: pin 7-Zip Extra URL to 23.01 (only version still hosted) MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=UTF-8 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit The 24.x extra archives have been pruned from the live 7-zip.org CDN — verified by curl HEAD over 2401/2403/2405/2406/2407/2408/2409, all return 404. Only 7z2301-extra.7z (Jan 2023) is still served with 200. That version's installer-mode SFX modules (7zS.sfx, 7zSD.sfx) are backwards-compatible with any modern Windows so pinning here is fine. --- .github/workflows/build-windows.yml | 5 ++++- 1 file changed, 4 insertions(+), 1 deletion(-) diff --git a/.github/workflows/build-windows.yml b/.github/workflows/build-windows.yml index 3a26eeab5..d31508855 100644 --- a/.github/workflows/build-windows.yml +++ b/.github/workflows/build-windows.yml @@ -341,7 +341,10 @@ jobs: EXTRA_DIR="$RUNNER_TEMP/7z-extra" if [[ ! -f "$EXTRA_DIR/7zSD.sfx" && ! -f "$EXTRA_DIR/7zS.sfx" ]]; then mkdir -p "$EXTRA_DIR" - curl -fsSL -o "$EXTRA_DIR/7z-extra.7z" "https://www.7-zip.org/a/7z2409-extra.7z" + # 7z2301 is the most recent "Extra" archive still hosted on the + # live 7-zip.org CDN — newer versions (24.x) have been pruned + # from the public URL.
